scene into crystal-clear focus.
By automatically selecting between two types of AF, your Nikon 1 always prepares you to
capture the perfect moment, even in many difficult-to-shoot situations. When you shoot
sports and other fast-action scenes, phase-detection AF comes into play. With its wide
coverage of 73 autofocus points, the Nikon 1 quickly tracks, brings into focus, and
captures very fast-moving subjects. When you shoot in dimly lit areas, contrast-detect AF
automatically switches on to reveal subtle details in the scene.

High-speed continuous shooting
When faced with a moving subject, rely on your Nikon 1s continuous shooting mode to deliver both high speed and sharp images. If the subject
is in motion—think of children running—the phase-detection AF works in tandem with continuous shooting mode, tracking the movement
and keeping the subject in focus. The moment you press the shutter-release button the camera captures razor-sharp images at 15 frames per
second (fps). Continuous shooting mode can shoot even faster when your subject is stationary (imagine a golfers swing). In this case, you can set
the camera to shoot at up to 60 fps!
