Using FM Trafc
Understanding Trafc
Garmin is not responsible for
the accuracy of the trafc information.
Use an FM Trafc Message Channel
(TMC) trafc receiver to receive trafc
information broadcast over the FM Radio
Data System. The trafc receiver is
integrated in the vehicle power cable.
In North America, trafc receivers
provide you with free, ad-based trafc
information that does not require a
subscription. Trafc information is not
available in all markets.
You do not need to activate the
subscription included with your FM
trafc receiver. The subscription activates
automatically after your nüvi acquires
satellite signals while receiving trafc
signals from the pay service provider. Go

Receiving Trafc
Information
To receive trafc information, the
following conditions must be met:
• The trafc receiver must be connected
to the nüvi.
• The trafc receiver and nüvi must
be connected to an external power
source.
• The trafc receiver and nüvi must
be in data range of an FM station
transmitting trafc information.
