The set may function improperly or the remote control may not
operate if the remote control sensor is exposed to direct sunlight,
strong artificial light from an inverter type fluorescent lamp or infrared
light.
Inserting the batteries
q Slide the rear lid in the
direction of the arrow and
remove it.
w Load the two batteries
properly as indicated by
the marks in the battery
compartment.

If the battery level is low, the remote control signal transmission/
status display flashes 5 times when a button is pressed.
In this case, replace the batteries soon.
• If the batteries are completely exhausted, the remote control signal
transmission/status indicator goes dark.
NOTE
• Insert the specified batteries in the remote control.
• Replace the batteries with new ones if the set does not operate
even when the remote control is operated close to the unit.
(The supplied batteries are only for verifying operation.)
• When inserting the batteries, be sure to do so in the proper direction,
following the q and w marks in the battery compartment.
• To prevent damage or leakage of battery fluid:
• Do not use a new battery together with an old one.
• Do not use two different types of batteries.
• Do not attempt to charge dry batteries.
• Do not short-circuit, disassemble, heat or dispose of batteries in
flames.
• Do not keep the battery in a place exposed to direct sunlight or in
places with extremely high temperatures, such as near a heater.
• If the battery fluid should leak, carefully wipe the fluid off the inside
of the battery compartment and insert new batteries.
• Remove the batteries from the remote control if it will not be in use
for long periods.
• Used batteries should be disposed of in accordance with the local
regulations regarding battery disposal.
Remote control settings (remote control side)

Set the remote control code simultaneously on the unit, too
(vpage37 “Remote ID”).

Hold POWER ON and OPEN/CLOSE pressed
simultaneously.
While these buttons are held pressed, the remote control signal
transmission/status display flashes twice, and the remote
control enters Setup mode.

When the number button “1” is
pressed, the remote control ID is
set to “DENON 1”.
When the number button “2” is
pressed, the remote control ID is
set to “DENON 2”.
When number key input is completed and the remote control signal
transmission/status display flashes twice, the settings for the
remote control are completed.
If the signal code of the remote control does not match the signal
code of the unit, the remote control code set on the unit is shown on
the display.

If the code setting on the unit is “DENON 1”, and the setting on the
remote control is “2”, “PLAYER 1” is shown on the display.
NOTE
• If you made the remote control settings incorrectly, the remote
control signal transmission/status display flashes for 2 seconds, and
then goes off. If this happens, the settings are incorrect and retry
the settings.
• Match the signal code of the remote control with the signal code of
the unit. If the remote control code is different, you cannot operate
the this unit with the remote control.
• Even if you change the remote control code, set the GUI menu
“Others”-“Receive Legacy Remocon” (vpage37) to “Off” when
operating this unit with a remote control other than DENON’s.
