First Steps
Charge the Battery
The camera is powered by an EN-EL14 rechargeable Li-ion battery (supplied).
To
maximize shooting time, charge the battery in the supplied MH-24 battery charger
before use.
About 1 hour and 30 minutes are required to fully recharge the battery
when no charge remains.
1 Remove the terminal cover.
Remove the terminal cover from the battery.
2 Insert the battery.
Insert the battery as shown in the illustration on the
charger.
3 Plug the charger in.
The CHARGE lamp will blink while the battery charges.
4 Remove the battery when charging is complete.
Charging is complete when the CHARGE lamp stops blinking.
Unplug the charger
and remove the battery.
A The Plug Adapter
Depending on the country or region of purchase, a plug adapter may
be supplied with the charger.
The shape of the adapter varies with
the country or region of purchase. If a plug adapter is supplied, raise
the wall plug and connect the plug adapter as shown at right, making
sure the plug is fully inserted.
Attempting to forcibly remove the
plug adapter could damage the product.
D Charging the Battery
Charge the battery indoors at ambient temperatures between
5–35°C (41–95°F).
The battery will not charge if its
temperature is below 0 °C (32 °F) or above 60 °C (140 °F).
D During Charging
Do not move the charger or touch the battery during charging.
Failure to observe this precaution could in very rare instances
result in the charger showing that charging is complete when
the battery is only partially charged.
Remove and reinsert the
battery to begin charging again.
